The Importance of Pap Smears and Cervical Health❗️

The Importance of Pap Smears and Cervical Health❗️

As women, we need to prioritise cervical health, and one crucial way to do this is by getting regular Pap smears.

Pap smears are a simple test that can detect early signs of cervical cancer, which is one of the most common cancers affecting women. Whether you’ve had children or not, this test protects your long-term health.

Cervical cancer is often caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection.

But don’t worry, HPV is preventable and treatable! Make sure you speak to your GP about the HPV vaccine, which can offer protection against the virus, especially for teen girls and those at higher risk from it.

If you’re between the ages of 25 and 65, a cervical smear every 3 years is recommended.

Please Don’t let fear or embarrassment stop you from getting tested. Early detection can save lives, and every woman deserves a healthy life. Spread the word among your friends, sisters, and mothers—let’s normalise these conversations and prioritise cervical health.

A healthy you is a happy you!
